            Salaka rigs were originally used for catching small baitfish, especially in Scandinavia, but us their effectiveness on multiple other species - including salaka, Baltic herring and sea trout became apparant, their popularity exteneded more wider. Today, they are comonly used throughout the whole Baltic sea region.
